Aldergrove Festival Days Presents:
Canada Day Parade

Annually on July 1st

The Aldergrove Parade has grown from the Aldergrove Festival Days Parade ...to the Fair Parade (1980's to 2017) to the ...Aldergrove Canada Day Parade (2018+)

...this year the Parade in Aldergrove is starting 9:30am AND is under a new 'covid-19' format

The PARADE ROUTE is OVER six kilometres long ...so PLENTY of room to keep 'physically distanced'

What does a Covid-aware parade look like?

Traditionally, Aldergrove Parades have been slow moving and short – about half a mile and half an hour.

This year, Aldergrove’s Canada day parade will be eight times longer – that is over 6 kilometres (4 miles)- and will loop around Aldergrove from 264th St to Station Road by way of 32nd Ave then onto 28th/29th Ave.

Think of it as the Parade coming to you instead of you needing to get to the Parade!

The vehicles will be integrated into the normal traffic flow so the total route will still take about half an hour for the Parade to travel.

To watch the Parade, please stay safe by keeping to the sidewalks. There is over 40,000 ft of sidewalk along the route, so with our normal crowd of 5,000 spectators, that works out at over 8ft of space per person so ...there is lots of room for ‘physical distancing’ for everyone!

Of course family groups will bunch up, so the actual room will be even more than that between family groups.

To get ready, you will therefore need:
1. Facemasks - strongly recommended (to help keep everyone safe as you walk to a vacant spot).
2. Lots of red – be it clothes, ribbons or flags!

The Parade will be led by the Township of Langley Firefighter's Fire Truck. The parade will travel west along 29th Avenue (starting at ACSS at 9:30am), east along 32nd Avenue to Station Road, then south to 28th and west to 272 and jog back onto 29th Avenue.

More than SIX KILOMETRES LONG (4 miles) ...there is lots of room for ‘physical distancing’ for everyone!

HAPPY CANADA DAY ~ Aldergrove!

What sort of entries are OK?
The Parade is an opportunity to get out and share your joy and enthusiasm at being a part of Canada. That leaves a lot of room for interpretation! Floats, decorated vehicles, animals and (especially) music are all welcome. ALL ENTRIES MUST adhere to the TWO METRE physical distancing rule!
